With one of the most anticipated new lines in goaltending in the recent years, Bauer has brought you one of the most engineered, designed, and technologically advanced line of gear. The 1S pant is packed with new features which strive to change the face of goaltending.
The 1S pant features all of the same technology featured in the other pieces in the line, but with a unique twist on their old pant. Based off of the NXG design, the 1S pant is built of a 2 piece style where the top hip padding can actually disconnect from the lower portion. This style gives the pants a broken in feel right out of the box. The weight of the pants is dramatically reduced compared to its predecessor. Still lined with 37.5 technology the pant will stay heat regulated and reduce the sweat buildup as you play. The top hip protector comes with Bauer’s comfort edge which adds in comfort and broken in feel. The top hip section features adjustments at the front suspender rivets and the back of the tailbone which can be adjustable higher or lower. Also, on the back of the hips the top portion can be velcroed higher or lower. All together, this is named the Extension fit which allows the goalie to adjust the cant or angle of their pants along with the height of the hip protection if they like to tuck or untuck the chest. Added new this year is an internal belt which allows the goalie to keep the pants tight on their body without losing any blocking shape between the arm and body.
Lastly, the 1S pant features more protection in the hips and thigh to give the goalie the confidence they need. The thighs are a squared but NHL legal design lined with Curv Composite which creates a stiff and rigid pant. The floating hip protection segments nicely over the thigh of the pant when the goalie bends and moves around. The front pelvic protector is also lined with FleXorb and Poron XRD aiding in even more protection that a butterfly goalie would need.
